Stray dogs are abundant in the villages and countrysides where I was brought up and their co-operation and conflicts were a sight that always fascinated me in my childhood. Dogs trained or domesticated by households tend to develop a completely different character with great aversion and hostility towards stray dogs of the surrounding villages. I also noticed stray dogs have mutual aversions and hostility towards domesticated dogs.

Human beings all over the universe seem at times, to be led by fear and instinct, as much as other animals and I believe that education, regulations and moral upbringing tend to counter and check the selfish and unbridled characters, which I hope the book may convey." - Seyoum Haddis
