Talk Show for Dog Lovers Has Debuted

“For the Love of Dogs TV” showcases features and news for friends of man’s best friend

Feb. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- A talk show devoted to “all things dogs” has debuted on Verizon UAN/Channel 27 and online at www.fortheloveofdogstv.com. “For the Love of Dogs TV” is the brainchild of Dallas executive Arthur E. Benjamin, founder of American Dog Rescue (ADR) and an internationally-recognized animal welfare advocate.

“I love animals, and dogs are my special passion. I am committed to making a difference for our four-legged friends in North Texas, across the nation, and around the globe,” said Benjamin. “If our television program can help enrich the lives of dogs and their owners, then we will have accomplished our purpose in creating this show.”

The first show featured Molly Peterson and Tressa Broadhead, executive director and vice president respectively of the Collin County Humane Society.  Peterson and Broadhead shared with Benjamin and his co-host Rainy Flynn the news that designs are well underway for a brand new facility in Wylie.  Two of their adorable rescues up for adoption, Spike and Wilma, joined in the fun. The second show featured award winning filmmaking duo Michael Cain and Melina McKinnon with their dogs Thelma and Louise as they spoke about the power of dogs on the big screen.

Future programming for the weekly magazine-format show will focus on canine causes, news, and features, including other interviews with national leaders in the dog welfare community; the latest products for dogs; new animal shelters around the country; footage from dog rescues; and special guest dogs.  Viewers can expect regular appearances by some of Arthur's amazing rescues: “Bandit,” Benjamin’s "Christmas Miracle" Shih Tzu, who was never supposed to walk and  now "runs with the wind,” and "Holly,” his epileptic 6lb poodle who will steal your heart, along with other larger dogs who have changed his life and the lives of others.

“'Bandit’ was known as ‘Scooter’ for the first six weeks of his life in Plano after birth trauma that damaged his spinal column and left him paralyzed from his mid-section down.  He miraculously recovered by undergoing therapy and with a HUGE spirit amazing the docs at Texas A&M,” said Benjamin. “When I first laid eyes on Bandit, AKA ‘Tiny Tim,’ I knew he would make it and have been privileged to be his sponsor in this quest that only can confirm that DOG is GOD spelled backwards, unconditional love."

“For the Love of Dogs TV” is a production of American Dog Rescue and the Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation.  The show will be broadcast weekly every Saturday at 7:30PM on Verizon UAN/Channel 27 and at www.fortheloveofdogstv.com.
