FCH Architects select Workspace to streamline thier future

Feb. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Like most architectural practices FCH architects has various software in place to manage the different functions of the business. However these disparate systems fail to integrate and with the launch of a second office FCH Architects felt it was time to future proof the business with a more streamlined way of working.  A particular focus for this initiative was around the monitoring of project financials as Director Paul Falconer explains. “We have a current Project Accounting system in place but it doesn’t integrate with our Sage financial ledgers. This means we’re constantly going in and out of different systems, with different passwords. It’s just not efficient.”

FCH Architects was introduced to Workspace at Union Square’s Manchester seminar back in October 2011. Workspace is the leading document management software for architects, storing business information in one central repository against the relevant projects, organisations and contacts. With the addition of Workspace Project Accounting, time, expenses and resource allocation can be tracked against projects with direct integration to Sage financial ledgers. This removes any duplicated effort between systems and provides real time visibility of project profitability.

“The most appealing thing about the system is the simplicity. It gives us access to more information in fewer clicks and removes the document duplication that was starting to become an issue for us” Paul explains. “It also seems ideal for multi site working which is becoming a more prevalent part of our strategy. Wherever we are based we will be able to access and file information in the same system consistently.”

As Workspace rolls out across the business over the coming months Paul and the rest of the FCH team hope to realise a number of key benefits including; increased productivity, removal of duplication and efficient multi site communication. “We are excited about having a future proof system going forward. The way we work now is OK but it feels a bit like a patchwork quilt. Workspace gives us the platform to grow the business in a streamlined and sustainable way” Paul summarises.
