Feb. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Julian Adeniran had a double celebration as he went on to beat his PB and received a call to represent England at the Indoor Grand Prix in Austria, the Vienna Indoor Classic. Julz stated “Personally, I think it’s always a great honour to represent your country whatever the event tomorrow isn’t promised and arguably it’s nobody’s birth right to be the best at what they do, so I try not to take opportunities like these for granted.”
Despite the destination temperature of -5ºC a team of 20 checked into Heathrow Airport on the Monday and made the 2.5 hour flight to Vienna.

Upon arrival in Vienna temperatures where too cold for Athletes to brace the elements so they wined down in their hotel where Julz spent the remainder of the evening with team Physio, trying to ease the stiffness from previous races just a few days ago.
The next day was D day with a good warm up in the bag Julz was ready to hit the track positioned in the outside lane for the heats. The race was an improvement from the earlier race a few days ago. Despite hitting three of the barriers and collapsing a little off the last hurdle Julz held it together and achieved another personal best time of 7.75s, qualifying for the final and marginally clenching the win by a mere one hundredth of a second.
Julz’s  high was short lived as moments later he felt a slight pain in his right quadriceps and after much deliberation decided it would be wise to pull out of the final and risk no further injury. Julz said “This was a pretty frustrating decision to have to make as I was almost certain that I was going to run even faster in the second round”  Julz sat on the side-lines and watched the final go by with acupuncture needles sticking out of his leg. Adding salt to the wound evidently his prediction was correct every competitor who lined up for the final ran faster than in the heats!!!

Back on UK soil Julz  had some treatment and his quad is back to its normal self. On reflection he is glad that he made the right decision of not competing in the final as he wanted to make sure that he was 100% on top form for the match that really counts the UK Indoor Championships at Sheffield.
With enough warm up races under his belt and benefiting from a few sessions, Julz was eager to step out and compete at a capacity crowd last weekend at Sheffield.
The UK Indoor Championships held in Sheffield was aired live on Channel 4 last Sunday to the nation and Blue Mountain Water watched Julz qualify through the heats and into the final. The final was tense as there was a false start, never the less Julz managed to keep his calm and came a respectable third giving him his first bronze Senior UK Championship Medal!!

Julz was delighted with his performance and told us "I'm ecstatic to have won my first senior UK Championship medal and to also walk away from the championships with a new Personal Best. The ability to focus on athletics full-time since October, with the help of Blue Mountain Water, has really aided my progress this year. I hope performances like these will help to attract the sponsorship lifeline I desperately need to be able to push on and achieve selection for this summer's Olympic Games."

Julz will be racing this Saturday 18th February at his home town Birmingham. You can see lthe live coverage from 1pm on BBC1.
Julz is surely on fire as he speeds on through his races and  is clearly a talented individual however he  needs funding to secure a place in the London Olympics.  You can help Julz on his Olympic dream Journey by making a donation or when you purchase any cooler from Blue Mountain Water we will give Julz £15.00 towards his training costs.
