China’s Vice president Mr. Xi Jinping arrives in Washington

AsiaOnlineNews.com (HONG KONG) The Chinese Vice President Mr. Xi Jinping, who is expected by many to become China's next top leader, has arrived in Washington DC for the start of a five-day US visit that includes stops in Iowa and Los Angeles.
 
Feb. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The United States trip is primarily a chance to build stronger relationships between American leaders and the figure who is expected to become China's president early next year.

Mr. Xi is due to have several meetings including high profile appointments with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.

The Chinese Vice President will also meet leading US and Chinese business executives, and on Wednesday will go to the Capitol Building for a meeting with Congressional leaders.

During his return visit to Muscatine, Iowa, he will reunite with an American family who hosted him in their home in 1985 when he was a visiting agricultural official from Hebei province studying corn growing and pig breeding.

Finally in Los Angeles, he will promote trade agreements and visit a school where students are learning Chinese as part of their curriculum.
