Is it True? or Is It Helpful? Special Event

It's As Plain As The Nose On Your Face...Or Is It??? Join us for "Is it True? or Is it Helpful?" on Saturday, March 10, at 1:00 pm EST

Feb. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Dr. Hank Robb will join SMART Recovery to present "Is it True? or Is it Helpful?" on Saturday, March 10, at 1:00 pm EST in the online meeting venue, The SMART Room.  Though it often seems like the most important question is, "Is it true?" we actually have choices about what questions we make most important in our lives. It is likely true that you have a nose on your face and if you want to be a loving parent, or child of any age, how useful would it be to remind yourself several times a day that you have a nose on your face? Perhaps not so useful even though it remains "true." In this hour, Dr. Robb will explore an alternative basis for choosing what we spend our time focusing on.  “Is this helpful?” may better help us steadily develop a more fulfilling life than "Is this true?" Join us and find out for yourself!

Dr. Hank Robb received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 1978.  Dr. Robb served as Director of Counseling and Associate Professor of Psychology at Lewis Clark State College, Lewiston, Idaho between 1978 and 1986 as well as President of the Idaho Psychological Association and Chair of the Idaho psychological licensing board before moving to Oregon.

Dr. Robb is a Supervisor for the Institute for Rational-Emotive Therapy, New York, board certified in both Counseling Psychology as well as Behavioral Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and holds a Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association’s College of Professional Psychology. He previously served as President of the American Board of Counseling Psychology and is listed as an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Trainer.

Dr. Robb is a founding member of SMART Recovery and continues to write regularly for the SMART New & Views newsletter on topics related to cognitive behavioral (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) -- thought of great interest to those in the forefront of psychological thought as well as to the individual who wants to create the life he/she wants to live. He is also an active SMART facilitator and advisor.
