Educators passionate about the state of education are being called to co-author the second annual interactive book - “What Matters Most in Education Today”.
By: Todd Lucier The most interesting aspect of this unique professional development summit is that attendees are disconnecting to connect. The UnPlug’d Summit takes place at the Edge, an award-winning solar powered nature retreat at Ontario’s Algonquin Park. Far from the distractions of cell phones and constant connectivity, summit attendees participate in a wide range of summit activities with the main purpose of digging deep to uncover what matters most in education today. “Unplug’d was one of my all time favourite experiences.” The first UnPlug’d Summit, held in August, 2011 brought together educational change agents from across Canada to share stories, to deepen relationships among participants, and to publish the collective vision of the group. The complete archive of the group’s wisdom including essays and video stories is available at www.unplugd.ca. Know an Inspired Educator? This year’s summit aims to attract an international cadre of educators. Someone who is willing to: Think deeply about things they are passionate about. Embrace new learning opportunities to think, learn and share with others. Reflect on barriers and brainstorm solutions with others. Collaborate with others to understand and build on each others motivations and skills. Interested participants are asked to attend through invitation or via self-nomination.
