Feb. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Shantel Sellers is a writer and editor who grew up in Honor, Michigan. After serving in the US Army, she completed a BA in Communications and returned to Honor in 2009 with her husband and children. Shantel didn't like what she saw. So, with a few friends, Sellers began to talk about what the people of Honor could do for Honor...

Talk led to action. So far, they've built a sidwalk where there was none. They've created public parking on the main street and built a covered bridge. Landscaping is going in this Spring. More than anything, the citizens of Honor have proved to themselves that they can remake their community. Nothing is stopping them.

Shantel is a founding member and co-chair of Honor Area Restoration Project and a trustee on the Honor Village Council. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Community Economic Development. You can listen to the full interview on Place Matters at 11:00AM EST
