Follow on Google News | Kobina Wright Ends Eleven Twenty Three Girl SeriesThe much publicized sketch series, ETTG, will be removed from art site this month.
By: Selah Haki “Eleven Twenty Three Girl” is a small series of works that include the titles: “Vibrant;” “An Eyed One;” “Green Pop;” and “Deree en Tventik.” Prints of the latter, “Deree en Tventik” will still be available through Artistrising.com. Recently, Wright has allowed the G.R.E.E.N. Foundation to use her art work “Deree en Tventik” to promote mammography screenings and breast health education for African American women in Orange County, California. Inspired by several artists and several styles, the series draws heavily upon Wright’s whimsical sketch approach that defines much of her work found on the internet. Her latest work, however, demonstrates an evolution of her art and speaks to the viewer with her amplified perspective. Earlier this year Wright initiated a process to begin selling from her private collection of original works. Notorious for offering prints and rarely selling the originals, she began searching for a buyer for a 2008 acrylic painting titled “Night Buildings.” Wright is a California native who earned her degree in Communications from CSUF. She has created several art series, including, “Fractured,” “Eleven Twenty Three Girl” prints will be available on FineArtAmerica.com until February 17th.
