Skipton’s dare devils to bare soles for charity

Feb. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The charity fire walk is the latest in a series of events organised on behalf of the Skipton-based female fundraising force to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The event, which is being held on Sunday 11th March 2012 at Skipton’s Rendezvous Hotel, is being organised by the hotel’s Front of House Manager, Rebecca Lawrence.

Rebecca, who leads the hotel’s fundraising team said,

“We’re giving Skipton’s resident dare devils a once-in-a-lifetime chance to put their best foot forward and take part in this event. Places are strictly limited to thirty participants so budding firewalkers should register their interest quickly.”

“We raised £3,000 last year and hope to beat that total this year” she added.

Ribble Valley & White Rose Ladies was set up in 1998 to raise money for research into childhood cancer. Since then the group have raised over £810,000 for Cancer Research UK. They are set to reach their £1m milestone later this year.

Supporters are welcome to watch the scorching spectacle, which kicks off at 6.30pm with full pre-walk training. The fire will be lit at 8.30pm followed by the fire walk at 9pm and celebrations afterwards.
