Follow on Google News | Fundraising Begins for Annual Anthology Production for Domestic Violence, Overage to CharityBroken Publications is raising funds online and offline for the first annual Soul Vomit Anthology focusing on domestic violence stories, art, and poetry. Proceeds not used will be donated to a local domestic violence advocacy group.
As a small, independent publishing company, Broken Publications' funding is limited. Due to the nature of the anthology, a virtual fundraiser has been launched to help cover the costs of work, publication, and contributors' copies. Any amount over that will be donated to a local domestic violence advocacy program. Funds are needed to ship contributors 2 copies each of the anthology after publication. The time, work, and money it will take to do this will not be covered unless donations are made, which would mean that no contributing writers or artists will receive complimentary copies. It is the hope of Broken Publications that people will donate not only to the cause of releasing the anthology, but also to the domestic violence cause itself and helping victims to leave their abusers and find life beyond daily fear and anxiety. The violence may happen behind closed doors and remain mostly unreported, but the goal with this anthology is to help this cause gain exposure, teach the signs of an abuser, and hopefully save young people from getting into abusive relationships. This will be accomplished through stories, poetry, prose, and artistic works throughout the book. To donate to the cause, please visit the donation page at http://soulvomitdomesticviolence.chipin.com/ Donations can also be made through http://www.brokenpublications.com or http://www.soulvomit.com by clicking the "ChipIn" button on the donation widget. Help expose and put an end to domestic abuse. # # # Broken Publications is an independent book publisher specializing in poetry and fiction publication.
