UPES signs MOU with University of Aberdeen

Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- New Delhi: University of Petroleum and Energy studies signed an MOU with the University of Aberdeen. This was signed by Dr Parag Diwan, Vice Chancellor, UPES and Professor Dominic Houlihan, Vice-Principal, University of Aberdeen.

Dr Parag Diwan , Vice Chancellor, UPES, shared, “Our partnership aims to cater to the energy enthusiasts. With Dominic, we aim to bring in energy powerhouse in Europe’s energy capital. Our educational programs are aimed at benefitting the students with huge learning. Our dedicated faculty and research associates are geared up to make their presence felt and add value to the energy studies amongst students. They will have an opportunity to showcase their abilities and get an opportunity and also get global benefits as they will get exposure of education outside. It is our privilege to get connected with an esteemed university and spread energy studies across the energy enthusiasts and students.”

Dominic Houlihan, Vice-Principal, University of Aberdeen, “We are hoping to have ripple effects of this exchange programs on students and their research activities. The expertise of UPES is not hidden to us and we are aware of the fact that it received award by Government of India alternative energy.  Given the niche curriculum at UPES, our agreement is one of its kinds wherein large variety of teaching and research based activities will take place. We want students to get the international exposure and strong industry interaction. With such exchange programs, it is quite likely that the chances for global employability will increase.”

The exchange program is expected to throw light on the energy sector. Some of the important topics of the agreement are oil, gas and alternative energy. It will also talk about the best practices evolved in emerging markets, research and development for developing economies. The program will have lot of initiatives and activities related to the energy sector.
