Houston Neonatal Inventor Featured in Woman’s World Magazine

Dr. Jackson  is the Founder of Nurtured By Design (formerly Zakeez, Inc); the company that specializes in promoting infant development (physical, psychological, physiological, and neurobehavioral) and in neonatal family-centered care.  She is the maker of the Kangaroo Zak that facilitates Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) by providing safety and a hands-free and comfortable skin-to-skin holding of any newborn, especially those born prematurely. The product, along with the award-winning The Zaky, was developed by Jackson, also a professional engineer, through her own personal experience in 2001 of having a premature baby that survived the deluge of Tropical Storm Allison which shut down all the life-support equipment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Houston.
