Kathryn Fox will be teaching art classes to WSC Academy students starting January 31st, Monday through Thursday, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, at Studio West. Kathryn, who is a certified teacher and professional artist, specializes in teaching art in alternative education environments. Students will learn how to work with a variety of media, in addition to learning about artists and iconic landmarks of the world. The new studio provides an environment designed to inspire artistic creativity. Students, as well as professional artists, will use the bright, open space to create and display works of art. A variety of techniques will be used which includes batik, drawing, painting, calligraphy, logo creation, and cartooning. If a student’s artwork is selected for display at the studio, they may also earn an income from their work, based on their decision to make it available for sale.
