Delaney Speaks with Thousands of Voters Across the 6th District

Over 5,000 voters participated in Delaney's first Telephone Town Hall

Jan. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Last night candidate John Delaney conducted his first telephone town hall reaching over 5,000 voters from Montgomery Village to Oakland. Delaney answered dozens of questions over an hour ranging from his plans for job creation to marriage equality

“I want voters to get to know me, understand my reasons for running for Congress and know about my plans for job creation for our region of Maryland,” explained Delaney.

While the economy, healthcare and social security were top issues for callers, the questions asked of Delaney were as varied as the 6th District itself. A few examples of the issues on the minds of voters include:

What do you think of the Occupy Wall Street movement?

What will you do to help returning veterans, like my son, get the healthcare they need?

I’m a hardworking federal worker for an agency under attack by Republicans. What will you do to protect workers at these agencies who feel they are good public servants?

“I was inspired by the level of conversation last night,” said Delaney. “Voters want real solutions to the economic and social problems they are personally facing or see as challenges for their communities. Last night was only the beginning of this dialogue,” stated Delaney.
