Two Academy of Design Students Have Been Selected to Compete in the 2012 BASCH It Up Competition

Jan. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Academy of Design at RCC Institute of Technology (AODT) is proud to announce that Cheryl Kocot and Vanessa Kent from AODT’s Fashion Design program have been selected to compete in the final round of the 2012 BASCH It Up competition. Cheryl and Vanessa have been chosen along with 8 other finalists, two students from each of the following schools: Seneca College, George Brown College, Ryerson University and Fanshawe College.

BASCH It Up! is a competition which highlights the talent of graduating students in Ontario’s post-secondary fashion programs. All graduated/graduating students from 2011 and 2012 submitted a design of 2-4 full women’s wear outfits in the form of illustrations and fabric swatches mounted on exhibition boards. A qualified panel of judges included Wesley Badanjak, Arthur Mendonca and Tamar Matossian, who evaluated BASCH It Up’s entries and determined the finalists.

The finalists will participate in an afternoon runway event in March 2012, when the winner and runner-up will be chosen. The winning outfits will be presented at EFA’s BASCH Fashion show in the same evening. The winner will receive the opportunity of six months paid internship at sponsor Eleventh Floor Apparel Ltd., a $1,000 clothing allowance from BASCH, and more.
