Key Compounding Pharmacy Receives Accreditation from National Board
Key Compounding Pharmacy in Kent, WA receives PCAB Accreditation
By: kristin prince
“Quality compounded preparations are crucial to patients,” said Joe Cabaleiro, executive director of PCAB. “By seeking accreditation through the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board, Key Compounding Pharmacy has shown that they are dedicated to adhering to nationally accepted quality standards when providing compounded medications to its customers. PCAB accreditation is a way for pharmacies to demonstrate their commitment to provide high quality compounded medications to their community.”
In order to receive accreditation through PCAB, compounding pharmacies must demonstrate compliance with PCAB’s standards through a comprehensive on-site evaluation and review of standard operating procedures by a PCAB surveyor. Pharmacies are awarded accreditation for meeting or exceeding all PCAB quality standards.
The Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) is a nonprofit organization that provides a voluntary accreditation program for compounding pharmacies nationwide. Formed by eight of the nation’s leading pharmacy organizations, PCAB promotes, develops and maintains principles, policies and standards for improving the quality of pharmacy compounding nationwide.
