Second Annual RI Technology Awards Open for Nominations, Applications

Jan. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Providence, R.I. – January 11, 2012 – Nominations and applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Tech10 awards. In its second year, the awards program – established by Tech Collective, Rhode Island’s industry association for Information Technology and Bioscience – recognizes the ten most accomplished technologists in the state’s IT, digital media, and entrepreneurial arenas.

Individually, Tech10 recognizes Rhode Island IT practitioners and entrepreneurs who excel in their practice, demonstrate a passion for contributing to the success of others, and are pioneering in their technological and career achievements. For the technology community, Tech10 is the opportunity for Rhode Island business and industry to identify its exceptional participants, and its future leaders.

“In the 21st century, technology is – and really always has been – about connecting people,” said Kathie Shields, executive director for Tech Collective. “Hardware and apps are just the byproduct. That’s why we created the Tech10 awards to be about people – personally and professionally.”

Individuals can apply for the awards themselves or submit nominations or applications for colleagues, employees, clients, partners, etc. at www.tech10awards.com. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 20th, 2012, and all application submissions are due Mar. 5th, 2012. Tech10 honorees will be announced in early April and showcased at an awards celebration to be held in May 2012. Three Tech10 recipients will additionally be honored with special recognitions announced at the event.
