Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Etobicoke residents will soon have a new “hot spot” to lay their yoga mats when Moksha Yoga Etobicoke opens its 1138 The Queensway studio doors early February, 2012.

With over 55 studio locations, Moksha Yoga’s anti-aging, calorie-burning and disease-preventing benefits are recognized worldwide. Designed to strengthen, tone and loosen muscles while detoxifying the body and calming the mind, Moksha uniquely combines therapeutic and traditional yoga in a specially heated room.

“Moksha has positively transformed my life, improving my physical endurance and helping me deal with the day-to-day challenges we all face. I’m excited to share yoga’s boundless benefits with the community,” said co-owner Gabriela Nicole Doiu.

“It has taken us just over a year of dedicated planning and now, with the launch of Moksha Yoga Etobicoke finally upon us, we’re thrilled to see our visions finally turn into a reality,” said co-owner Catherine Braund-Pereira.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, the studio is offering first-time students unlimited classes for one month for $40 and everyone 25 per cent off selected classes when purchased online by January 31, 2012.

Devotedly altruistic, the studio also supports a number of organizations through Karma classes. Each Friday, students can attend a free class with a minimum $8 donation going towards local charities including the New Leaf Yoga Foundation (http://www.newleafyoga.org/), which brings the benefits of yoga to disenfranchised youth.

Moksha Yoga Etobicoke is passionate about making the limitless benefits of yoga accessible to all students, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. The warm personalities, in-depth knowledge and passion for yoga are apparent in owners and studio directors Braund-Pereira and Doiu who will certainly make each person who walks through their doors feel welcome.

Not only do Braund-Pereira and Doiu endeavour to provide all students with a welcoming experience but they’re also committed to providing a safe “green” atmosphere in an environmentally-conscious studio. Moving beyond just recycling, Moksha Yoga Etobicoke features a cork studio floor, energy-efficient radiant heating panels and is chemical-free; using VOC-free paint and natural, hypo-allergenic cleaning products.

Childhood friends for 20 years, Braund-Pereira and Doiu are ecstatic about launching a business they’re passionate about and giving back to a community they were born and raised in.

While both have a profound knowledge of yoga practice, with a combined 14 years experience in the field, and are certified Moksha Yoga instructors, the McGill University graduates also bring a diverse portfolio that is both inspiring and a testament to their ability to succeed as entrepreneurs.

New mom Braund-Pereira has over 10 years of entrepreneurial experience in small business consulting, consumer relations and has excelled as a performing artist. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a strong and successful marketing and business background, Doiu has over 7 years experience working in strategic branding and design companies.

Braund-Pereira and Doiu look forward to introducing Etobicoke to an innovative and accessible yoga practice that enhances the body and mind while promoting positive and “green” living.
