Jan. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA - (January 4, 2012) Tony Ross, the founder and creator of and who specializes in animation, motion graphics, interactivity and web design, is preparing to distribute his dynamic new series of DVD tutorials for filmmakers, videographers, film and video editors, digital artists, Photoshop and After Effects users, and sci-fi and fantasy fans at all skill levels. The series is designed to help novices, beginners, students, intermediate and master digital artists transport their viewers to any place or any time by simply adding digital matte paintings to their work.

Ross’s Simple Matte Paintings DVD Tutorial, the first in the series to be released to the public in March 2012, is both innovative and awesome, taking a skill that heretofore has been exclusive because of the level of difficulty and the time it takes and making it simple, quick and highly effective in pushing the creative boundaries by adding new dimensions to traditional works of digitized art. Part of the appeal for novices and beginners is that much of the source footage will be shot with a variety of consumer cameras at low price points.

With more than 10 years of teaching and freelance experience, Ross has served as a professor of electronic arts at the Atlanta College of Art (ACA), in addition to teaching teen and adult courses in computer animation and web design as a member of the faculty of the ACA Community Education Program and the Savannah College of Art (SCAD) Continuing Education Program. His tutorials have been featured on Creative Cow, Toon Boom, and Gomediazine, as well as on And, his impressive roster of freelance clients for animation, multimedia, and web design includes Dabel Brothers, Marvel Comics, The Freedom Toast, and Dean Koontz.

The overwhelming response to Ross’s recently produced series of matte painting tutorials (using only Adobe Photoshop) - - has been remarkable, landing the series on Google’s first page for searches related to “photoshop matte painting.”
