Terry and Michael spent almost 4 years over renovating castle, investing some £1 thousand transforming it, with the inside developed by Ben Huckerby of Ben Huckerby Design. Ben says "I suggested taking the walls back to the unique brickwork and developing an luxurious look with deeply colors, black timber and extremely textured fabrics"

The castle was the victorious of Channel 5's I Own Britain's Best Home. Promoted and voted by the local people and community, it defeat off harsh rivalry from 26 other deluxe houses around the UK, together with a stately home and a converted water mill.

Set in 12 miles of luxurious place, there's an outside courtyard with barbecue place and a pond with a rowing boat.

Over the course of 8 summers, executive developer Charlie Luxton, inside specialist Brian Porter and creator Russell Harris put 24 wish homes through their paces as live-in home visitors. Their assignment was to interview entrepreneurs who were enthusiastic about their houses and had sweated over the style and furnishings to leave their long lasting impact on the structures. It's all a far cry from the first house that Terry and Micheal owned, a back-to-back in Leeds that price them £7,500 in 1991.
