Treemendous reception for HB&O Xmas centrepiece

Dec. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- A creative Midlands company aims to have the corporate market wrapped up after creating a unique Christmas gift.
Vortex Creates, based in Offchurch near Leamington, has taken its first steps into the corporate services market after creating a unique Christmas tree crafted completely from folded book pages and glue for Leamington and Coventry-based financial experts Harrison Beale and Owen.
The stunning 7ft creation took around 24 hours to make and included more than 500 plain pages from books. It was designed after directors Marianne Taviner and Nicola Richardson approached HB&O with the idea of creating a Christmas tree which captured the personality of the organisation.
“We know HB&O well, as they have been our accountants since we first set up in 2008, and we knew they were open-minded enough to try something a bit different,” said Marianne.
“The idea was that the Christmas tree would be practical but also eye-catching enough to draw attention and illustrate what the company was all about.
“The fact it is constructed of book pages reflects the accountancy element and the decorations are jelly bean numbers and baubles to capture HB&O’s imagery and slogan ‘more than just bean counters’ from its branding.
“It wasn’t as easy as you might think, it turned out to be a bit of a crash course in origami and paper rolling, but it was definitely worth all the effort in the end!”
The company has worked on many large events in the past producing costumes and converting spaces for events such as the Notting Hill Carnival and Coventry’s Godiva Festival.
Now Vortex Creates is targeting the corporate market and is offering organisations access to creative branding, product launches and exhibition services among others.
Nicola said: “We want to help organisations stand out from the crowd and through our experience and expertise we are able to help companies approach marketing and events in a completely different fashion to traditional marketing firms.
“If someone can imagine it, we can create it - and if they can’t imagine it, we can create it anyway!”
The new HB&O Christmas tree is situated in the main reception of the company’s Highdown House offices, in Leamington, and has already raised a few eyebrows with visitors.

“Almost everyone who has seen it has commented on how impressive it is.
“I think Marianne and Nicola have done a fantastic job and to be able to capture the company branding in such a visual and unusual fashion is a very impressive achievement.”
