| Cardiologists Daw and Locklear Join WakeMedDrs. Jeffrey Daw and Jimmy Locklear, previously of Wake Heart & Vascular Associates, are joining WakeMed Health & Hospitals WakeMed Faculty Physicians – Raleigh Cardiology the first week in January 2012.

Dr. Daw is a board-certified cardiologist who is dedicated to providing a broad range of cardiovascular services that include the latest in non-invasive cardiac, peripheral, arterial, and venous testing, electrophysiology and cardiac catheterizations, as well as nuclear studies and echocardiograms. Dr. Daw earned his medical degree at The University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to joining WakeMed Faculty Physicians – Raleigh Cardiology, Dr. Daw practiced with Wake Heart and Vascular Associates since 1995. Dr. Locklear is board certified in both general cardiology and internal medicine, and he provides a wide range of diagnostic, non-invasive and interventional cardiology services, including: general cardiology, treatment of arrhythmias, stress testing, stress echocardiography and nuclear testing, cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous cardiac interventions (PCI). Dr. Locklear earned his medical degree at The University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Heather Morgan, PA will also join the group from Wake Heart & Vascular Associates. Morgan completed the Duke University Physician Assistant Program, earning a Master of Health Sciences degree, and also has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from North Carolina State University. All three providers will practice at Raleigh Cardiology’s Cary location where they will join Dr. Bhavani Balaravi to serve the cardiac health care needs of a growing western Wake County. Dr. Locklear will also see patients in the Raleigh office where he will perform nuclear studies, and in the WakeMed Heart Center where he will perform cardiac interventions.
