Capacity-building International NGO holds training on quality, leadership and decision-making

EQUIP BPO (Enhanced QUality and Information security Program for Businesses and Professionals in the Outsourcing sector) project held a training of trainers last November 2011 in Pasay City, Philippines on quality, leadership and decision-making.

Dec. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Following through on the results of its industry needs analysis, the EQUIP BPO (Enhanced QUality and Information security Program for Businesses and Professionals in the Outsourcing sector) project held Training of Trainers last November 22 to 24, 2011 at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay on three core areas identified as major areas for improvement: quality, leadership and problem-solving and decision-making.

The 3-day TOT is a joint initiative of the TUV Rheinland Philippines and Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) in collaboration with the Business Processing Association of the Philippines under the DEG-funded EQUIP BPO, which seeks to equip the BPO/ITES firms with the necessary technical and managerial skills to adapt to challenges on quality, health and safety, and information security practices.

The goal of the training is to help participants 1) understand of the basics and importance of quality and appreciation of the available standards and certifications; 2) select, interpret and evaluate the applicability of various quality management concepts and tools to real life situations; 3) acquire skills for managing people, productivity and quality; 4) identify key leadership and coaching skills; 5) understand how to use an innovative yet structured process-based problem solving approach in practical scenarios; and 6) recognize how to take informed decisions and calculated risks.

ECCI Senior Process Consultant Raja Kumar facilitated the workshop on Quality, ASSIST Projects and Grants Management Director Sathappan Sathappan discussed Leadership, while ECCI Country Manager Karthik Subburaman taught Decision-Making Strategies.

Participants included quality officers, operations managers, department heads, team leaders and project manager from WR Grace, Primesoft Philippines, Xybersolutions, Solutions Resource, Asian Business Solutions, iSphere Global, IT Group, Accenture, Pointwest Technologies, Deltex Systems, Radix Systems, ASTICOM Technology, Trend Micro, Maersk Global Service, BlastAsia, Manulife Data Services, Acquire Asia Pacific, and CitisecOline.com.
