Dec. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- As the digital economy continues to expand, enterprise security is emerging as one of the more pervasive concerns of developed economies. Nowhere is this more evident than in the UK government's decision earlier this month (November 25th) to completely revise its cyber security strategy, which will be expanded and demand greater collaboration with the private sector.

This cooperation between companies and public bodies will manifest itself in the form of a national cyber security hub, where information about threats and possible responses to them will be exchanged. Unveiling the plans, Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude made clear that the new strategy had emerged out of a recognition of the growth of, and increasing exposure to, cyber threats.

"With greater openness, interconnection and dependency comes greater vulnerability. The threat to our national security from cyber attacks is real and growing," he explained. "Organised criminals, terrorists, hostile states, and 'hacktivists' are all seeking to exploit cyber space to their own ends."
