DJ Qualls to be honored at Mockfest Film Festival

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- “We are honoring DJ Qualls not just for his comedic work, but also for the strong characters he often portrays. Qualls has become the ultimate hero for the everyman, bringing a relate-ability with him that transcends the screen.  It is through his more recent serious roles that we can appreciate his versatility and see his comic genius in roles such as  Road Trip, The New Guy, Delta Farce and now Running Mates for which he is being honored."

Festival director Guil Claveria describes MOCKFEST as “The ultimate mockumentary outlet; a home for mocks and comedies alike. We take pride in pushing the envelope in this slow, but evident growing platform. There’s not much out there for our fans and filmmakers so we are really looking to expand the horizons here and offer a helping hand. We hope as the world is exposed to more and greater mockumentaries, our family is given a niche”.

After receiving the award (in his name) the DJ QUALLS MOST INSPIRATIONAL COMEDIC PERFORMANCES AWARD will be presented annually at the MOCKFEST Film Festival.

We will also be honoring Deep Roy and Clint Howard.
