Nov. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- A roster of businesses has taken part in a golf day hosted by commercial property provider Bruntwood, devised to raise money for a Liverpool charity.
Bruntwood usually focuses on office space to rent (http://www.bruntwood.co.uk/office/), but switched its expertise to event organisation for a day, raising £16,000 for children's hospice Claire House.
The family-owned company is pleased to have generated a large part of the £50,000 it has committed to raising for the charity as part of a three-year schedule. The initiative uses funds to provide a supportive environment for children who have fallen victim to progressive illnesses and also helps their families to cope.
In a departure from its conference facilities (http://www.bruntwood.co.uk/meeting-rooms/) in cities such as Manchester and Liverpool, Bruntwood took 18 business teams to the countryside to compete at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa on Thursday, 22 September. The day dawned bright and without any sign of the autumn chill usually expected at the time of year, providing ideal conditions for golf.
ANSA Elevators emerged as the winners, ahead of Weightmans, DWF, Massive and Keppie, while raffle prizes were contributed by Shepherd Construction, CTM, Bagnall & Morris and Styles & Wood.  Many of the companies taking part are housed in Bruntwood's office space.
David Guest, Bruntwood's Liverpool-based regional director, said: "While the success of our business has been in focusing on engaging and looking after our existing customers and in attracting new customers, we have never forgotten that our success is attributable to many different factors, not least the success of the community that we all work, play and live within.
"Being able to mix a little work and plenty of play at fundraising events for Claire House will make a difference to those who are much less fortunate than us and is essential to help build more sustainable cities."
Bruntwood is renowned for services such as provision of virtual office space (http://www.bruntwood.co.uk/virtual-offices/), among other commercial property options.
