Follow on Google News | Author, 87, Offers Dating Advice For Women Over 50 On How To Find A Good ManAuthor Carol Grier, 87, also known as Wise Old Carol, offers dating advice for women over 50 in her newly released book, "How To Recognize a Good Man When You Meet Him." This book helps women recognize the subtle characteristics found in good men.
"I heard one sad relationship story after another, so I wrote this book to share the hard-won wisdom I've gained from my own experience, as well as studying the subtle characteristics of good and bad men for over 40 years," Grier explained. After leaving her own heart-breaking first marriage, she studied women and marriage with a psychologist and collected relationship insights from both happy and unhappy couples. She soon found a perfect partner for her second marriage. For all women, she advises, "Learn to envision yourself as the chooser in the relationship, instead of yearning to be chosen." In the book, Grier covers how to create a "good man" seeking network, where to find great partners while out enjoying life, and 20 questions to ask a man before making a serious commitment. She also describes early warning signs that can indicate that a man isn't as good as he seems. Grier's bottom line is for women to empower themselves -- ask questions and gather information about a man -- instead of falling for romance, mystery and an "incomplete resume." Grier also offers advice to those who've found their good man, including how to avoid three major arguments in every marriage -- money, religion and in-laws, by discussing how to handle each issue before getting married. She also provides savvy advice on how to keep a marriage alive, especially during difficult times. About Carol Grier Carol Grier is the author of three books: "Secrets," "Choices: A Memoir" and "How To Recognize a Good Man When You Meet Him."
