3rd Annual Wells Chowder Challenge Winners!

Nov. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The esteemed panel of judges; Norm Karkos from WMTW, Chris Kast from EAT Maine & Meredith Goad from Portland Press Herald, had their work cut out for them. There were 9 Chowder Choices in two categories: Traditional New England Clam Chowder and Other Chowders. The three Awards were for Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice & Most Tasted.

The event was held on Saturday, October 29th at The Wells Corner Shopping Center. Hundreds of people came out to participate in selecting this year’s winners and help support Maine Wounded Heroes Program.

The 2011 Wells Chowder Challenge Winners are:

Thanks goes out to all of the participants in making this a great event for all. Billy’s Chowder House, ME & D’s Diner, Maine Diner, Captain & Patty’s, Bintliff’s – Ogunquit, Well’s Super Foods, Tom’s Fried Clams & The Wayfarer. In support of the event, The Army National Guard came out, as did WPOR, Maine’s #1 Country Station, Cap’n Eli’s Soda, Fred’s Coffee, Cabot Cheese and The Doo Wop Boys.

Funds raised will go to help support the Wounded Heroes Thanksgiving Food Drive. Wounded Heroes of Maine provides a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for all of the families they are working with. FMI in supporting this effort, please contact Pam Payeur 207-468-1026
