Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- In the June 2011 Cambridge Pre-U exam series hundreds of students went above and beyond, achieving outstanding results in their subjects. Some of these achievers shared their experiences, explaining what they enjoyed about their course, how it prepared them for university and influenced their decisions about the future.

Sam Miller from Watford Boys Grammar School is going on to study economics at the University of Cambridge. He says: "I really enjoyed the increased difficulty of Cambridge Pre-U Economics. I also felt I could express myself better in exams and it definitely reinforced my decision to study economics at university."

Daisy Gibbs from St Swithun's, Winchester is going to study music at Queen's College, Oxford – she wants to do a PhD and become a university lecturer in music. She says: "I loved the fact that Cambridge Pre-U Music was so varied and allowed me to study some great classical masterpieces like the Rite of Spring. My experience of the course definitely influenced my decision to study music [at university] because of the variety of topics covered and the fact that it is so academically based."

Alexander Tomkinson from Rugby School is going to study physics at Imperial College London. He says: "I enjoyed the Cambridge Pre-U course because of the broad curriculum. It gave me the opportunity to pursue my own interests in the topics. This meant I was able to make a much better judgement about my course at university."

Max Hampshire from Cheadle Hulme School, Cheshire is going on to study philosophy at the University of York and has his sights set on being a writer of fiction, poetry and plays. Max says: "Cambridge Pre-U Philosophy and Theology was a well-rounded course, which allowed you to answer the exam questions in your own way. It provided an insight into the style and calibre of university work."
