Sharon Reuler Teaches Texas HOA Reform Laws Online Seminar

Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- To educate lawyers about the significant HOA Reform Laws enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2011, Dallas real estate attorney Sharon Reuler has co-created and co-presented a series of on-line seminars that are produced by the State Bar of Texas. "Too many Texans don't realize that every HOA in Texas is affected by the law changes. Large and small, old and new, rural and urban. If it's a mandatory membership association and residential in nature, it's got to learn some new dance steps. The challenge is how to get the word out," says Sharon.

The first of the series, produced on June 30, 2011, is titled "New Day for Texas HOAs: Overview of 2011 Reform Legislation for Condos and Owners Associations." This 90-minute televised course attracted more registrants than any other webcast sponsored by the State Bar in four years. The webcast is being replayed periodically, and will eventually be available on the State Bar's On-Line Library.

The second of the series, to be produced on November 8, 2011, is titled "2011 HOA Reform Laws: Select Issues: Records, Meetings, and Elections. The two-hour webcast focuses on only certain of the Reform Laws. "There wasn't enough time in the Overview to give attention to specific topics. We're planning to create a series of "Select Issues" webcasts to drill down to specific law changes. The November 8th webcast is the first of the series," Sharon added.

Sharon's partner for this series of webcasts is Houston attorney Roy Hailey. Although they do not practice together, the two colleagues have teamed for a number of continuing legal education projects sponsored by the State Bar of Texas.
