Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Santa began investigating alternative ways to get customers the fuel they need in inclement weather after last year’s record snowfall.  Jim Salemme, Santa’s Transportation Manager, commented, “Our new truck gives us the ability to deliver fuel to customers whose driveways might otherwise be inaccessible.  It can go up steep inclines and through snow and other conditions when a normal delivery truck could get stuck.”

Salemme explained how this new vehicle came to be. “We located an FL80 truck that had been used by a utility company in Pennsylvania.  It had the power and drivetrain we needed, but it was a utility truck.  So our mechanics in Bridgeport converted it into a fuel delivery vehicle by installing a 2800 gallon tank to the original chassis.  As it was custom built by Santa, we know that no other fuel company has anything like this in their delivery fleet.”

Peter Russell, Senior Vice President of Santa Fuel, commented, “Santa has always been committed to serving our customers.  Our new four-wheel-drive delivery truck will allow us to service customers we may have had trouble getting to in the past.”

Said Russell, “While we hope this winter is not a repeat of last winter, we want our customers to have peace-of-mind knowing that we have this new 4x4 vehicle.  No matter what this winter brings, we are prepared to get them the fuel they need, when they need it.”

Family-owned Santa Fuel has been the leading home heating oil supplier in southwestern Connecticut for over 70 years.  In addition to delivering premium fuel to area homes, Santa also offers installation and service of heating and cooling equipment, chimney maintenance and home energy audits to keep its customers’ homes safe, comfortable and energy efficient.
