A New Castleton Video Sends Shivers Up Our Spines - The Little Gem Is

The Shivering Mountain quivers in the warm Summer breeze and an ancient castle stands proud, watching over the bustling streets below. Castleton - the birth right of a gemstone, but the village is a treasure in itself. A Vision In Video.

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Peak District Online – our own national treasure, have proved once again
they have beaten the odds and come up with a video to top the ones that came
before. With huge thanks to the very talented Terrybnd, this latest video, in a
long line of success stories -  heralds he little “Gem of the Peak District” - it’s mysterious caverns, it’s mist shrouded mountains and it’s romantic Roman legends. With haunting piano and an angelic choir, this video takes us on a tour of the jewel of the National Park,
over dale and up mountain, winding streets and treacherous roads. They lead and
we follow.

We are captivated from the start as the piano tinkles over its hoard,
the pearly sky shines upon a stunning compass embedded in gritstone, the pale pink
sky announcing the awakening dawn.  A
lone walker leaves behinds the magical mists of the in the valley bottom as the
sun peeks over the horizon. Angelic voices lift our spirits, crowning a new day
in the Peak District – a new dawn of time - in a land that time has forgotten.
And then we get our first glimpse of the famous Shivering Mountain, its
layers of rock undulate to the eye, the music sways with the effort to catch it.

Quickly the scene changes, keeping up with the rhythm, the black and white stylised images transform from drawings to real time and ensure this video keeps up the pace. The
glorious pen and ink style shifts the gears as the music upholds its rhythm.  An Ancient castle surveys the town, a castle
with a long and colourful past, of long ago times - a historic era is shown on
the screen in the form of succinct sentences, from a wordsmith who’s clearly
done his homework.

We gasp at the glory of the Blue John Gemstone, so rare now and so beautiful still.
No wonder Castleton attracts visitors from the world over. With its mysterious
caverns and winding walkways, dramatic landscape and huge precipice of dangerous
climbs, sit back and watch the video transport you to the top of the mountain and
back down again. Envy the walkers picnicking on the overhanging slabs to the paraglider
jumping off into the warm thermals to flutter over the Shivering Mountain itself
– a birds eye view no less! If only we could join them and bask in the warm
summer heat, saunter down the mountainside to the historic pubs and wander
through the treasure trove of shops.

Castleton
is surely a place we must go – a place we must stay. Its gemstone will not
always be with us, and in our lifetime we need such jewels to pass to our own
little treasures - our generations – our own little Gems of the Peak District.

Thanks
again Peak District TV – there are so many places we haven’t touched on yet in
the Peak District and we can’t wait to see more. Keep up the magic, because you’ve
definitely cast us under your spell.
