Ant Hive In Line For Major Honor

Oct. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- The Line HD, an iPad game released by Ant Hive Games, has been nominated as one of the eight select finalists vying for top honors at the forthcoming Independent Games Festival China ceremony due to take place in Shanghai on November 12 2011.

The Line HD’s central character, Eddy will be hoping to bag one or more of the five awards for which he and his makers are in contention: namely, Excellence in Audio, Technology, Visual Arts, as well as the Best Mobile Game and Best Game awards.

Chief Ant, otherwise known as Matt Orlich, the CEO of Ant Hive Games, commented:

During 2011 Ant Hive Games successfully transitioned Eddy from the comparative confines of the iPhone onto the luxuriant freedom of the iPad where players have been able to better enjoy help Eddy navigate his environment by drawing and erasing lines to create a safe passage for him.

Then in September 2011, Ant Hive introduced The Line HD v.3 opening up a series of new challenges for Eddy’s most loyal guardians – whilst novices to the randomness and at times self destructive wilfulness of Eddy can now enjoy the entry levels of the game for free.

The panellists deciding Eddy’s ultimate fate at IGF China will include Kevin Li (CEO, TipCat Interactive), Monte Singman (CEO, Radiance Digital Entertainment), Xubo Yang (director of digital art lab and assistant professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University's School of Software), Haipeng Yu (producer, Tencent Shanghai), and jury chairman Simon Carless, IGF Chairman Emeritus and EVP of the GDC shows and Gamasutra.
