Meet Stephen Tow, author of The Strangest Tribe: How A Group of Seattle Rock Bands Invented Grunge

At several upcoming author events, Tow will read from his new book The Strangest Tribe and discuss the potent Seattle music scene that had been brewing in the Pacific Northwest long before it hit MTV.

Oct. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PA:  Fans of Seattle music have several upcoming opportunities to learn more about its music scene during the years leading up to the grunge phenomenon, as The Strangest Tribe author Stephen Tow will conduct readings from his new book and host discussions in Seattle, Washington and throughout Pennsylvania.

Based on more than 100 interviews and five years of research, The Strangest Tribe chronicles the rise of rock n' roll's last great statement and unveils what the music really meant to its key players. The book arrives October 11 from Sasquatch Books (paperback, 272 pages, $18.95, available wherever fine books are sold). An excerpt appears in the October issue of Seattle Met magazine.

Tow is an historian specializing in American history and popular music, and teaches at Delaware Valley College outside of Philadelphia, PA. He'll be hosting these author events during October and November:

Tues. Oct. 18 - Feedback Lounge, Seattle:

Weds. Oct. 19 - Elliott Bay Book Company, Seattle:
