B1 B Bomber Centralized Aircraft Support System (CASS)

Oct. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Testek is pleased to announce the award of the Centralized Aircraft Support system (CASS) in support of Aircraft Maintenance Group (AMXG) at Tinker AFB. The AMXG performs programmed depot maintenance (PDM) on the B-1B airframe systems checks, including hydraulics and avionics. Testek will provide the design, manufacture, and installation of replacement/upgraded Centralized Aircraft Support system (CASS) units.

The existing CASS hydraulic supply units, avionics air units, and chillers have been used multiple shifts over fifteen years and have become unreliable. The current equipment constantly fails and requires frequent unscheduled maintenance. When this equipment is down, our customer must connect portable ground support units to the system or aircraft as a workaround. There are considerable over and above man-hours required to accomplish workarounds along with an increase in downtime and maintenance cost.

Testek is providing the design, manufacture, delivery, assembly, and installation to replace and upgrade (16) hydraulic supply units, (4) avionics air units, (1) chiller, (4) remote industrial grade control and monitoring units.

Each of the hydraulic supply units has dual pumping systems capable of 60 gpm at 4000 psi. The avionic air units are capable of supplying the aircraft cabin dry conditioned filtered 60 to 80 degree air up to 4000 SCFM. The chiller will be 150 ton to replace and old existing system. The remote control and monitoring console will provide centralized hanger controls at each bay for the CASS system.

Testek is well under way in the design phase and will soon be starting assembly of the CASS at our manufacturing facility in Wixom, Michigan.
