Truck Hybrid Controller Systems.

Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Testek was recently selected by a major manufacturer (OEM) to provide two (2) hybrid power electronics controller test stands.  Testek was selected from multiple test equipment providers based on our Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) experience and extensive industrial / aerospace background.

The truck hybrid system consists of multiple components including an automated transmission system, electronic clutch, hybrid electric motor, motor controller, batteries and electronics interface.  The truck hybrid system allows for initial acceleration of the truck to come from the electric motor; and when the truck is slowing down, the electric motor will assist in braking and in the process allowing for the batteries to be charged.  This latest development in technology allows for hybrid systems, similar to those we see in automobiles, to be used on large transportation trucks, taking advantage of the city driving (stop and go) that uses a large amount of diesel fuel.

Testek is providing the test solution to the electronics interface that controls the components of the hybrid system. Further, the test system ensures that the batteries are charged to the manufacturer’s test specification.  

This production and overhaul / maintenance system will be used to approve each electronic interface.  Later in the production life, the test system will also be used to provide a simple “go/no go” status on the electronics interface and provide charging to the hybrid batteries.

Testek is pleased to provide this type of test equipment and is capable of providing test equipment for the next generation of green industrial systems.  Testek ATE systems are able to test multiple components from the latest windmill power generation systems to automotive and industrial hybrid systems.
