Vanderlande Industries nominated for the Governors International Awards

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Atlanta – The Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce for the Southeast (NACCSE) is proud to announce that Vanderlande Industries has been nominated for the Governor’s International Awards. The Dutch company, Vanderlande Industries established their subsidiary and US Headquarters in Atlanta in 1998. They provide services and systems for the baggage handling market located at airports as well as material handling systems for the parcel and postal industry in North America.

Vanderlande Industries employs over 2000 people in 15 countries. The NACCSE nominated Vanderlande Industries for the Governor's International Awards. Despite the decline in the economy, Vanderlande Industries in Georgia grew from 100 employees in 2008 to 260 employees in 2011 and recently won a significant contract with Lend Lease for Delta Airlines at John F Kennedy International Airport. Vanderlande Industries are nominated for the International Deal of the Year. This award is given to Georgia companies that land the biggest business deals of the year  which can result from acquisitions or buyouts to relocations and startups. Vanderlande Industries won a contract worth over $ 50M at the John F. Kennedy International Aiport in New York. They will design and install a new airport baggage handling system at Terminal 4. All manufacturing resources for this project are in Georgia by transferring jobs from Europe and China to the USA.  Not relevant to this article

The winner of this prestigious award will be announced on October 20th at the third Annual Atlanta World Showcase event and the Governor’s International Awards. The event includes a showcase of countries represented in Atlanta including Consulates, bi-national Chambers of Commerce and international trade groups. Representatives from these organizations will be available to answer questions about doing business in their country. This will be followed by the Governor's International Awards ceremony.
