Huberspace Presented “Best Practices for a Basic Website” Seminar for Small Businesses

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Leesburg, Virginia – Jim Huber led the “Best Practices for a Basic Website” free seminar hosted by the Loudoun Small Business Development Center (SBDC) from 6:00 to 8:30 PM on September 22 at The George Washington University VA Science & Technology Campus. Exploration Hall was packed with over 70 small business owners and start-ups searching for answers.

Tests show it only takes 20 seconds before visitors to a website give up and click away if they can’t find what they’re searching for. Huber definitely helped his audience find what they were searching for. He even showed examples of what works and what doesn’t on actual business websites so people could see and understand firsthand.

Huber suggested free and/or affordable tools to set up your own basic website. He talked about the importance of updating content on your website as it relates to search engine optimization (SEO), usability and social media. He answered questions about buying a domain name, free do-it-yourself website services and what are the best pages for a basic website. The audience left buzzing with ideas and a valuable hand-out to help them get started.
