Prestigious Town Award for New Gallery
The White Gallery in Dorking has recieved a town award for excellence just three months after opening it's doors to the public.
The owners, Michael Palmer and Rachel Benneworth opened the doors to the White Gallery on the 2nd of July this year, coinciding with Dorking Independents' day and have been extremely pleased with the reception that they have so far received in the town.
“Since our opening” said Rachel Benneworth, “We have been getting lots of positive feedback from our customers. People seem to be genuinely pleased to have a shop like ours in Dorking which focuses on contemporary and especially local art and hand-crafted pieces. The timing of our opening with Independents day sort of reflected our ethos – selling beautiful, unique pieces, and at the same time, supporting independent Surrey Artists.”
“We have worked really hard with the presentation of the gallery, to keep it interesting and looking beautiful, and this award is just fantastic recognition of that. It is the best news, we really couldn't be happier”. Said Michael Palmer.
The award was presented in a ceremony on the 22nd September at the 2011 Dorking Business Show at the Dorking Halls.
