Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Ceremony Honors Local Law Enforcement

Domestic Violence Legal Network of Montgomery County Hosts Domestic Violence Awareness Ceremony on Thursday, October 14, 2011 at 12 noon. The ceremony will take place in courtroom A at the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- NORRISTOWN, PA - The Domestic Violence Legal Network of Montgomery County (DVLN) will hold their annual ceremony in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. this year's theme is focused on "The Role of the Local Police in Domestic Violence Matter". This year's ceremony will honor Deputy Chief Scott Bendig of the Montgomery Township Police Department for his continuing efforts in the fight against  domestic violence. The ceremony will also include  a check presentation to the Thomas Barone Educational Fund. Thomas Baron was a Norristown police who was shot and killed on October 11, 1992 in  while responding to a domestic violence call.

The Domestic Violence Legal Network of Montgomery County (DVLN) was formed in 1986 by professionals from law enforcement, the court system and agencies working with victims of domestic violence, for the purpose of sharing resources and expertise to serve victims more effectively.
