Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- It may be a little early – or late – for Easter Egg Hunts, but the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts is inviting the people of Swansea to a Golden Egg Hunt on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 September at 11am - with the promise of discovering a prize inside!

Willy Wonka may have his Golden Ticket but the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts have their Golden Egg – and you won’t just get a tour of a sweet factory from us!  Our ‘Hunt’ is linked to Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite – which forms part of the programme being presented by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the Brangwyn Hall on Thursday 13 October, and you can win tickets to come along and hear this fabulous orchestra and Stravinsky’s beautiful music - which may be familiar to you from the animated Disney film “Fantasia 2000”.

The Golden Eggs will be hidden in various stalls within Swansea’s famous Indoor Market, so you can enjoy investigating the many stalls in the market as you follow the clues to discover the Golden Egg - and you may even discover some stalls you have missed out on before!

Clue for Wednesday 28 September – Where in Swansea Market would you expect an egg to appear?
Clue for Thursday 29 September – A Golden Egg?  Where would you be most likely to discover a ‘gold’ egg? – with all that glistens and glitters maybe?

The Firebird follows the story of a lovestruck prince who makes a pact with a glorious magical Firebird to open a magical egg to destroys an evil magician and brings peace and happiness to the kingdom.

Although there is no evil magician to destroy with a broken egg, our Golden Eggs, when opened, will contain a prize worthy of celebration - vouchers for two tickets to the concert on 13 October which is conducted by BBC NOW’s Principal Conductor, Thierry Fischer, with Scottish born award winning pianist, Stephen Osborne, and includes a vast range of music to support Stravinsky’s fairy-tale ballet music, The Firebird (1919) version.
