PacketLight Networks introduces PL-1000TN an advanced highly integrated Multiprotocol 8G/10G OTU2

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- PacketLight Networks Ltd. a leading provider of CWDM, DWDM and Dark Fiber connectivity solutions, announced today that it has released the PL-1000TN, 6 port, Multiprotocol Optical Transport Network 8G/10G OTU2 transponder.
The PL-1000TN is highly integrated solution for unified transport of different protocols such as 10G LAN/WAN, STM64/OC-192 and 8G/10G FC over common optical transport layer providing full flexibility to control each service type and rate independently from the management tools.
The PL-1000TN is designed for multiple applications such as: robust packet optical network infrastructure, edge CPE device for end to end 8G/10G managed service over carrier OTU2 OTN back bone,  ROADM based applications as Multirate OTN transponder, and transporting multi-services 8G/10G clients over long distance optical networks.
Additional key benefits of PL-1000TN for building high end carrier grade DWDM infrastructure are:
1)   Enhanced Forward Error Correction codes suitable for extremely long distances in amplified DWDM networks, eliminating the need for expensive regenerator sites and enabling forming of an effective ROADM network.
