Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- New York, NY. Sept. 27th – Susanne Tremblay and the Gershwin Hotel will present a Multi Media exhibition entitled “Three Carsons Out of Texas” with an opening reception on October 20th, running through November 20th. The three Carson brothers L.M. Kit, Reverend Goat and Neke Carson were born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Each brother displayed a talent for art, theater and music at an early age and each has accomplished major milestones in their chosen fields.

"It's very rare for a family to do what the Carsons have done," said Suzanne Tremblay, a noted supporter of the arts and an owner of the famously hip, art-filled Gershwin Hotel, " it's hard enough for someone to succeed in the arts and entertainment, but three in the same family? It's overwhelming," she continued, "That's why we decided to produce this exhibition."

The show will contain artwork by the brothers, movie posters and video installations detailing all their different areas of expertise. Scripts, books and other writings by the brothers will also be included.

L.M. Kit Carson, the oldest brother, actor, screen writer, co-wrote and starred in the ground breaking film David Holzman’s Diary (1967) which is credited as the first mockumentary, and listed in the Library of Congress collection of “American Film Treasures.” Kit wrote the film adaptation to Wim Wender’s Paris, Texas, which also starred Kit’s young son Hunter, and Harry Dean Stanton. It won best film at the Cannes Film Festival (1984). Kit also penned the screenplay to the horror classic Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2 and co-produced the film Bottle Rocket (1996), which introduced the world to two other brothers from Dallas, Luke and Owen Wilson. Kit will premiere his latest film for Sundance Channel “Africa Diary” at the Gershwin hotel exhibition.

Reverend Goat Carson, the middle brother, musician, actor, writer and political activist, has tackled political hypocrisy head on after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina by composing lyrics for the Grammy award-winning album The City That Care Forgot for the great pianist and rock n’ roll hall of famer Dr. John. He ran for the President of the United States with Eagles’ guitarist Joe Walsh as his vice-presidential running mate in 1992. Goat has been a fixture in New Orleans culture and has a recurring role playing himself on the HBO hit series “Treme”. He has also written a novel dealing with the soft underbelly of Hollywood society entitled “ Shallow Graves”, which is being considered for a new HBO series.

Neke Carson, the youngest brother, musician, artist, founder of LaRocka Modeling Agency and a staple of New York art scene, has been chief satirist and point man for an emerging art movement, which is known as Conceptual Art ever since the early seventies. His events such as Sold!, where he placed red dots near all paintings and sculptures purchased in Soho, changed forever the way artwork is bought and sold. His most (in)famous performance was his Rectal Realism portrait of Pop Artist Andy Warhol, which Andy videotaped and photographed the session as Carson painted Andy. Neke’s artwork had been exhibited around the world and he recently had a one-person two-room show at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsbugh. At the age of fifty he sat down at the piano and taught himself to play without any formal training. He has given several concerts over the years including one at The Rubin Museum of Art.

The opening reception for the event will be held on October 20th from 6-9pm at the Gershwin Hotel (7 East 27th, NYC, NY 10016)
