Sept. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Phoenix, Arizona – Allen J. Gerzoff announced the release today of his second full length book, also a science fiction novel: “Historelic: The Second Journal”. It is the second of the Richard Remington series. The first book of the series: “Historelic: The First Journal” was released earlier this year. The third book of the series is in process with a planned completion and release early next year.

In this book, protagonist Richard Remington was having problems. Time had passed. During his initial visit to the 48th century those many years ago, he was granted the gift of longevity. It was either a blessing or a curse. He found himself getting old, but by no means frail. At 95 he still had the physical abilities and mental acuity of a 40 year old, much to the regret of certain enemies who would have rather seen him dead.

He was continuing to follow his most recent career as a time traveling historian when he was accosted by one of those enemies. Richard Remington was shot down in the streets of Tombstone, Arizona in the year 1881 and left for dead. He had been involved in his work recording the real shootout at the OK Corral. The time traveling Retrievers ultimately found him and hauled him back to the 49th century for a hasty life-saving patch-up that involved the replacement of both his lungs. But that was just the beginning of his troubles. He soon found himself under attack on other fronts as he defended himself and his home turf in the 21st century.

People had advanced in great strides in the intervening years between 21st and 49th centuries. Their technology was a match to anything in the known universe. They were taller, stronger and far healthier than their predecessors had ever been in any foregoing era. They had figured out how to survive the encroaching cold and snow of a constantly worsening ice age by boring out vast underground tunnel networks to facilitate every need from manufacturing and food production to daily living. But they were still humans with all the accompanying angers, frustrations, hopes, loves and bad attitudes.

By accident of birth or by deliberate intent, Richard Remington found himself in the unique position of being able to benefit from the 49th century society’s advanced expertise and technology while continuing to live his own life in the times in which he’d been born.

The author Allen J. Gerzoff was born in Vermont and grew up in Upstate New York, but has spent most of his life in the southern Arizona desert where he retired from a successful career in mechanical engineering. The loves of his life are his wife, children, grandchildren, writing and photography, not always in that order. In retirement, he has achieved recognition as a landscape and wildlife photographer. He enjoys writing, mostly science fiction, some poetry and an occasional short story. His science fiction endeavors are based on a life-long interest in time travel and history in regard to the origins of human kind. His poetry and short stories are simply verbal snapshots of life and whatever has his interest at any particular moment.

Praise for Historelic: The Second Journal
This new author is in high gear! I thought Historelic: The First Journal was very good. This Second Journal is even better. Richard Remington starts out hot and steams all the way to the end. I’m really curious to see where the next one goes. – Carl Krebs, Tucson

A crackling adventure sprinkled with a keen wit. A terrific read end to end. – Sheldon Thomas, Peoria

Praise for Historelic: The First Journal
Great read!! I was immediately drawn into the mystery of the ‘ghostly intruder’. And then from there, into the author’s vision of our 48th century world. I wasn’t sure I liked the ‘universal language’ spoken by the future characters of the book – it was a little hard to read at first. The author’s dry humor drew me in, though, along with the consistency of the story line and pretty soon it was my universal language too! Overall, I highly recommend this book. However, I would like to know one thing… When’s the next book coming out? – Kara Knorr, New River

I purchased this on my Nook. The cover caught my eye when I was searching for books under $5. I usually read mysteries, but found this sci fi an excellent read. Waiting for the next book to come out to continue the adventure. – Cheryl Klawitter, Phoenix
