By: Nefab Companies, Inc. Nefab Companies, Inc. is the North American division of global packaging giant Nefab AB, and is the new combined company uniting former Chick Packaging, Inc. and Nefab, Inc. Nefab Americas includes Canada, the US, Mexico and Brazil. “When the company decided on our new space at the Airline Drive location, it was a demonstration for the entire group on the importance of the continued growth and strength of our North American operations to fully serve our growing client base both regionally and across the Americas,” commented Wade Mullis, CFO of Nefab Americas. The new facility brings the opportunity and space required to expand operations and introduce a new production line called ExPak - the collapsible, nail-less crate that is Nefab’s distinctive packaging solution across the globe. With the move to this new space, the company now occupies just over 100,000 square feet including approximately 13,000 for office and the rest dedicated to warehouse and production. “The recent merger between Chick Packaging and Nefab has substantially increased both our employee and customer base. With plans to add the new ExPak product line, we simply outgrew our existing space. Our new home accommodates our rapid expansion with state-of-the- Nefab ExPak is a range of plywood boxes that are held together with steel profiles pressed into the corners ensuring strength and durability yet weighing far less than a standard cleated plywood crate. ExPak is also an ideal solution for air freight, where the cost of shipping is determined by the weight of the package. The benefits include reduced weight, ease of assembly, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. ExPak boxes are also shipped to the user flat which drastically reduces delivery costs, and the lack of nails or screws makes them safer for workers to handle. In addition, the plywood boxes can be customized for many applications from small parts to large engines and even aerospace parts. ExPak is customizable based on dimensions, pallet, locking mechanisms, handles, etc... Until now, the only ExPak production facility for North America was in Ontario, Canada. While that facility has been successfully serving most of North America for years, the new production capabilities in Texas will allow Nefab to better serve their customers in the Western United States and Mexico. "We are all very excited about the new facility. It will provide us with the space to grow our business and allow us to expand with additional product lines as well," said General Manager Jeb Baum. "Having some additional warehouse space will be great for sales. We think our customers are really going to be impressed." # # # Nefab delivers complete packaging solutions to international industrial groups, with special focus on the telecom, electronics, automotive, energy, medical and machinery industries.
