 Second Annual FALDP ConferenceThe Florida Association of Legal Document Preparers is now well into the second year of operation. Formed in May of 2010, this trade association continues to grow, adding new members, and assisting the public, pro se litigants, and legal consumers.
By: Ruth Tick, FALDP Sept. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The Florida Association of Legal Document Preparers (FALDP) is proud to announce our SECOND ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 9-5, at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 881 Venetia Bay Boulevard, Venice, Florida 34292.
The FALDP mission is a journey. We have only begun, there is much to do. We trust that as we grow and educate our members; our members will, in turn, educate consumers. We hope that the confidence gained through education will, then, empower those consumers. We have faith that one day, consumers will have a fighting chance to pursue their legal rights, with or without an attorney, with the proper education and tools to know when or if legal advice is required, and to make their own informed legal decisions whenever reasonable. This year's conference agenda is stacked with interesting and dynamic presentations. FALDP member Julie Jefferson, www.freedomrings.biz will speak to our group about the perils of UPL investigations in Florida today. Bob Hurt, www.bobhurt.com, internet activist and blogger, will discuss consumer's rights to access the legal system; and how each one of us can do our part to ensure access for everyone. Melisa Thompson, private process server, and owner/operator of www.youvebeenservedfl.com will explain laws, recently enacted, that affect everyone trying to effect service of process. Ms. Thompson will thoroughly discuss the laws surrounding service of process and how to make sure that you and your customers follow procedure. Ruth Tick, FALDP Director, will present ideas and insights about best business practices; internet marketing; and customer service. Ms. Tick will also present prizes, giveaways, and certificates. The Friday evening before, a pre-conference get together is set for happy hour, 5-7, at the world famous Old Venice Pub, 100 West Venice Avenue, Venice, 34285. Admission for the all day event is $75 for Basic Members; or $50 for Premium Members. The cost for new members is only $100 and includes a one-year basic membership.
