“Very Good Option for Multimedia after cutting cable,We purchased this LG BRD player for our bedroom. I researched reviews on Amazon, CNET and Consmer Reports before settling on this model, and the sale price made it an easy decision.

6 months ago we cut cable, since we were already streaming a lot of video over our PS3 and we get good OTA HD reception for regular TV channels. The one problem was that if we wanted to retire from the living room early, we couldn’t stream video on the TV in our bedroom. The LG BD 670 connected easily to our wireless router and within a few mintes I had connected to our Netflix and Hulu accounts. As other reviewers mentioned, make sure you update the firmware first. Once that was done connectivity was a breeze.

The user interface is OK but a little slow and has a slightly gimmicky look, but nothing that is bothersome. The load times are not as good as the PS3, however that is to be expected since the Playstation is connected to our cable modem directly via ethernet not wireless. Still, given that we are connecting wirelessly on a different story of the house, the connection is very good and downloads are not interrupted by buffering issues.

The blu-ray player aspect works as expected and although the LG BD 670 doesn’t work with BD live, that feature wasn’t important – picture and playback are good. I still watch most BRD’s on our larger HDTV downstairs where we also have full home theater sound. Last night we started an instant Netfix video downstairs, then decided to finish it upstairs. Since the devices are both synched to the same account, we were able to resume the video on the LG in the exact place where we paused it on the PS3.”
