UCM Community Stage Highlights Local Talent

Independence, MO - - On Friday, September 2nd through Monday, September 5th, 2011, the Independence Chamber of Commerce presents the 39th annual Santa-Cali-Gon Days® Festival.
 
Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The festival offers three stages for entertainment; the Gospel Stage, the Nuts & Bolts Main Stage and the University of Central Missouri (UCM) Community Stage.  The UCM Community Stage again will showcase our local talent.  

On Friday, September 2nd the UCM Community Stage will open with the UCM Marching Mules Drumline.    Throughout the weekend featured entertainment, events and contests will be held.  The stage lineup includes a watermelon seed spitting contest, root beer chugging contest, ice cream eating contest, local dance troupes and our very popular Santa Cali-Gon Days® Karaoke Idol Contest.

If you are interested in participating in the Karaoke Idol Competition, you can download the registration form from the festival web site at www.santacaligon.com or contact the Independence Chamber of Commerce at 816-252-4745.  Please read carefully all rules and regulations.  Registration deadline is Friday, August 29, 2011.  Registration must be made in person at the Independence Chamber of Commerce, 210 W. Truman Rd., Independence, Mo.   For all other contests please register during the festival at the Community Stage.
