Campaign Against Cruelty to Pixels (CACPIX)

Aug. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Lake District, U.K. based Better Photos have started the Campaign Against Cruelty to Pixels (CACPIX). Its mission: To stop people doing terrible things to pixels and encourage everyone to love their pixels.

Despite the advances in digital camera technology there are millions of bad photographs taken each year. Incorrect shutter speeds, improper focus and poor use of flash result in ugly photos. Many of these images are simply deleted; others, embarrassingly, get displayed on facebook and other social networking sites.

‘Love your Pixels’ is the message that CACPIX wants send out to all digital camera owners. Pixels, (short for Picture Elements), are the smallest unit of a digital picture that can be represented or controlled.

‘The needless cruelty to pixels can be avoided by learning how to use your digital camera properly. Setting your camera to Auto Mode is often not enough.’ said Mark Elliott, from Better Photos.

‘People pay hundreds of pounds buying a creative compact camera or digital SLR and use less than 5% of the camera’s capabilities. I show people the great results that can be achieved when people know how to use their digital cameras.’ said Mark.

Better Photos run digital photography courses and provide personal tuition in digital photography and PhotoShop. They are based in the Lake District, Cumbria, U.K. Courses include: Digital Photography for Absolute Beginners, How to Use Your Digital SLR, Portrait Photography and Flash Photography.
